Gillian Nicola:
The first thing that strikes listeners about Hamilton’s Gillian Nicola is the strength of her vocals. This rising singer/songwriter calls on influences of folk, rock and alt-country to bring a sound both unique to her and that honours her diverse taste. In 2016, Nicola released her sophomore EP, No Place to Call, which was produced and engineered by Dan Hosh (Whitehorse, City and Colour, Rose Cousins) at Catherine North Studios and mastered by Elliott Brood’s Stephen Pitkin. Nicola’s 2013 EP, Chasing the Wind was nominated at both the Toronto Independent Music Awards and the Hamilton Music Awards. Since then, Nicola has performed throughout Ontario at various notable venues and festivals, including the JUNOs Concert Series, was a Regional Finalist in the 2015 CBC Searchlight Competition, and has participated in the CIRAA Mentorship Program.

Jessica Pearson and the East Wind:
After their first international tour throughout Ireland, Jessica Pearson and the East Wind released their first single “Think of Me” in late 2016, which reflected a blend of country roots, bluegrass and folk with an infusion of their newly acquired Celtic sound. The band’s music has been described as Nickel Creek meets Great Big Sea. Past performances include the Calgary Stampede, Toronto Ex and Mountain Man Festival. They have also played with Hillsburn, the East Pointers, Murder Murder and Ten Strings and a Goat Skin!

Early 2017, Jessica Pearson and the East Wind signed with Willow Sound Records and have officially released their debut EP 'Grave and Garden Songs.' The band consists of lead singer and guitarist Jessica Pearson, fiddle player Maddy O’Regan and double bassist Pat Bigelow. Jessica Pearson and the East Wind’s dynamic live shows take you on a journey through their lives with heart warming harmonies, the liveliness of maritime kitchen parties, and intimate traditional melodies.
