Bringing Hamilton Mountain residents together for a free workshop on buses and bicycle education… Are you looking to downsize your car use as you near retirement? Wanting to know how you can activate the HSR and perhaps use your bicycle with the bus system too? Come to a Totally Transit workshop, presented by Green Venture and New Hope Community Bikes, connecting seniors with sustainable transportation.
Totally Transit for Older Adults provides opportunities for seniors to reconnect with the Hamilton public transit system and offers an opportunity to link active living (bicycle riding) with using the bus.
This free 1.5 hour workshop at Westmount Recreation Centre will also provide participants an opportunity to get on a demonstration bus and see how to access the services, and provide on-bike instruction, to allow participants to get reacquainted with basic bicycle safety and etiquette, and how bicycles can be used in conjuction with the bus system.
The workshop will also feature the opportunity to sign up for an optional free chaperoned bus ride and/or guided neighbourhood bicycle ride, to be held on a different time/date after the workshop.
Totally Transit for Older Adults ensures that seniors will retain the ability to connect with their community through promoting sustainable transportation and safe cycling education.
Refreshments will be provided during the workshop.
