Adobe Illustrator workshops (instructed by Maddie Brown) running on three consecutive Saturdays in November. Register for all three levels or just one!
Pt. 1: BEGINNER
November 4, 1-4pm
Learn to create beautiful illustrations, vector artwork, logos and business cards! As a beginner you will learn basic tools and quick keys, familiarizing you with the software to make your experience as easy and seamless as possible. Learn to trace images and create your own vector illustrations using the pen tool, learn how to quick select colors and shapes using the magic wand tool and how to apply colours. Improve your personal as well as your professional artistic skills in an intimate classroom setting.
Pt. 2: INTERMEDIATE
November 11, 1-4pm
As an intermediate-level student, you will learn to properly use clipping and shape masks, make beautiful coloured gradients, create patterns and colour swatches. You will also learn to use paths, groups and editable text. This Saturday-afternoon intensive is a great opportunity to enhance your design skills in a This hands-on workshop will give you all the tips and techniques on Adobe Illustrator.
Pt. 3: ADVANCED
November 18, 1-4pm
Continue to develop your skillset in this intensive hands-on session. As an advanced learner, you will design logos, create outlines for text, add effects to make your art pop, and live trace images using various thresholds. You will also tackle advanced settings such as setting up files for both print and digital use, and learn proper saving settings for all file formats.
Bring: Notebook and/or laptop (if you have your own software).
Members: $40/session or $100 for all three.
Non-members: $60/session or $160 for all three.

Factory Media Centre is Hamilton's artist-run resource centre for film, video, new media, installation, and sound art. The Factory advances the discourse of contemporary media arts locally and nationally through exhibitions, screenings, workshops, educational and community-based programs, as well as access to multimedia equipment, editing software, and studio space.
