It is estimated that approximately seventy million people worldwide struggle from eating disorders. These include (and are not limited to):
— binge eating
— weight-gain and obesity
— body dysmorphic disorder
— compulsive exercising
— fasting and deprivation
— Subclinical eating disorders (eating and weight control behaviors are not normal, but they are not disturbed enough to qualify for a formal diagnosis)
— eating disorders related to substance abuse
Eating disorders are often misdiagnosed or not recognized because of the stigma attached. People of all genders, ages, and sizes struggle from eating disorders. A person struggling is not necessarily underweight or overweight, and often the symptoms are " not disturbed enough to qualify for a formal diagnosis".
To address this issue, and the wide variety of varying food-related disorders, we are proud to offer a free support group to individuals struggling with any form of eating disorder. The group is open to individuals of all ages, genders, denominations, religions, and orientations.
The aim of this group is to «find our love,» and learn to develop a healthy relationship with food, eating, and our bodies, while addressing the core issues within us that feed and increase the symptoms of eating disorders.
Find your LOVE with us, every Thursday at 6:00PM. This group is open to all individuals, regardless of where you are in your healing journey. You are not alone.
Start date: Thursday, February 8th, 2018
