For five Friday evenings over the course of March and April, you can find your Zen place in a friendly, encouraging space at this watercolour workshop. Whether you've already attended our single workshops or haven't even picked up a brush, it's a great way to learn themes and techniques so you can paint for yourself. Once you have the basics, it's amazing what you can create!
This program costs $300 per person, or you can attend single classes for $65. You'll need a small paint set and at least one brush (we'll post suggestions). For an additional $25, we can supply them. If you've attended and feel the basics of the first lesson aren't necessary, don't worry. There'll be something new for you to do with my lovely assistant and creative sister, Georgia, who is a great teacher herself. If you attended last year's five week course, we have a few new things for you to try! You certainly won't be bored. And you'll have new inspiration to continue at home.
March 16: Introduction, materials, playing with colour, blending, basic brushstrokes.
March 23: Landscapes — trees, background/foreground, perspective, skies/clouds, water. NEW: focus on reflections in water ie treelines, shadows.
April 6: Abstracts. Spray, splatter, pour, scratch, masking fluid (frisket), adding other mediums like watercolour pencil, crayon, and ink.
April 13: Florals. Petals, leaves, white space, brushstrokes.
April 27: Perfecting your skills — questions, free-style painting of your choice, and possibly a guest artist. Greeting cards or bookmarks. This one can be whatever you want!
I'm always available for questions here on Facebook or by calling 905-966-0856. This makes for great times with family and friends so pull a group together! There's room for 40 people maximum. We can't wait to meet you!
