FEATURING LIVE MUSIC BY DANNY METAKOVIC
We are four local authors who will be reading from our recently published books. Here’s a little bit about each of us.
Cam Goede is a lover of all things outdoors. In his book, Exploring the Dundas Valley, Cam describes the best places for hiking in and experiencing this spectacular region.
Marissa Slaven is a mother and palliative care doctor. Code Blue, her first book, is inspired by her teenage daughter Anna. This young adult speculative thriller takes place in a not-so-distant future where rising temperatures and sea levels have dramatically reshaped the world in which we live. All royalties from Code Blue will be donated to Ecojustice, Canada’s largest enviro...nmental law charity.
Helena Trooperman is fascinated with how our ordinary lives might be made extraordinary by new technological capabilities. She will read from Good Fortune, a speculative thriller about a resourceful woman who goes in search of her partner after his oil rig ship explodes near Angola.
J.S. Veter began writing HiLo (high-interest, low-vocabulary) books after her youngest son was diagnosed with dyslexia at age seven. Her newest book, Beast, tells the story of Abbey and her family, who are carrying the last life from Earth to a new, safe planet. It’s an exciting story for those who want an easier read.
