Are you interested in preventive medicine?

Traditional medicines are now acknowledged for their restorative value and do complement modern medicine. The Indian traditional system of healing, Ayurveda, offers a holistic method to counter stress and imbalance caused by lifestyle, food, and one’s approach to self, others, and nature.

People care about the side effects of synthetic drugs and want a more humanistic approach to health and wellness. The high cost of prescription drugs is also a concern. These are reasons why more people are turning to a lifestyle approach like Ayurveda for solutions that embrace natural healing ways.

Body Therapies Yoga Training is pleased to offer four learning sessions over three months to increase awareness and experience of subtle energies in both living and inorganic matter. Over this time participants will explore and observe how lifestyle, diet, and mental and emotional tendencies influence and are influenced by the qualities of energy, and ultimately impact health or illness. This information and experience adds more gems to one's jewelry box and contributes to healthier relationships. Breathing exercises is included in each session.

Who might embark on this journey?

Therapists, yoga teachers, life coaches and those passionate about natural prevention are welcome to take this 12 hour course with Ayurvedic Physician, Vaidya Manish Trivedi. Participants will enhance their personal life, and enrich client/student relationships and outcomes.

Location: Sessions take place in Hamilton, Ontario at Wellwood Resource Center, 501 Sanatorium Road on the following Sundays from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

July 29, 2018 – Love and Enhance Your Unique Human Nature: What influence does a calm, harmonious nature (called sattva) have on both your physical health and your mind? How does this sattvic quality affect your family, students, and clients? Is this quality present in food and how can one improve sattva? Ayurveda has recommendations.

Aug. 26, 2018 – Kitchen Pharmacy and Digestion: What is the main cause of disease according to Ayurveda? How can your immunity improve by following an Ayurvedic food guide? Engage in a healthy discussion on this life promoting topic, and discover how taste and food can improve and decrease agni, the chemical and transformative properties of body and mind.

Sept. 09, 2018 – Know Your Early Warning Signs of Imbalance: Ayurveda sees the five elements (ether, air, fire, water, earth) as the building blocks of nature. These elements exist in inorganic and organic matter including within your body. How can you recognize the first signs of imbalance? What steps can you take in your daily and dietary routine to prevent further imbalance of an element? Each individual is unique and solutions are also unique. Participants will be encouraged to honor and embrace their own uniqueness.

Sept. 23, 2018 – Daily and Seasonal Routines Matter: How to prevent imbalance of the five universal elements within the body? Become familiar with daily and seasonal routines, and gain greater understanding of how daily activities affect health and illness. What type of physical exercises, breathing techniques, colors, drinks, and herbs would be useful for each season? If you like the idea of aging gracefully, this knowledge is invaluable.
