The second ever Art Spin Hamilton is here! Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Spin, we’re excited to be back with fantastic new artists, fascinating locations and wonderful supporting partnerships. For those who haven’t been on an Art Spin, it began as an an interactive bike and art tour, first launched in Toronto as Art Spin in 2009. Art Spin focuses on alternative ways of experiencing art by placing it in unexpected venues throughout the city. Our event is a fun and engaging social experience, open to all levels of cyclists and ages.
The Spin will launch on Friday July 20th at 7pm from Hayward Park. The ride will finish off around 9:30pm, at which point we’ll ride over to our after party at The Cotton Factory! There’ll be amazing food and drinks provided by Nellie James Catering and music by DJ Kristen & DJ Seema, all the while enjoying the company of your fellow Spin riders. This year we are excited to announce a collaboration with Hamilton-based creative hub HAVN, who will be presenting a series of video works on view throughout the duration of the after party!
Featured artists for our 2018 ride include:
Daniel Griffin Hunt
Jordan Schwab & Patrick Bulas
Geoffrey Shea & Tony Massett
Our spin will launch from Hayward Park at 13 Delkeith Avenue.
We will start selling tickets at 6:30pm at Hayward Park and will depart for the spin at 7pm. If you are purchasing tickets in advance please come at least 15 minutes before 7pm as you will need to sign in, we don’t want to ride off without you!
Coming from out of town, or simply don’t own a bicycle? If you are in need of a bike for the spin, SoBi Hamilton is a great resource for a rental bicycle!
Tickets are $5 online or pay what you can at the event.
We are delighted to be concluding our 2018 Spin at The Cotton Factory, located at 270 Sherman Ave N, Hamilton, ON L8L 6N4. Even if you can’t make the Spin, all are welcome to celebrate with us, the party will take place from 9:30-1am! Please bring some cash to enjoy great food, drinks, and music. An event ticket allows entrance into the after party, tickets are also $5 or pay what you can.
