Join us for an afternoon discussion unpacking some of the themes of our Spring/Summer exhibition, Daily Bread, featuring artist Teresa Ascencao in conversation with invited guests from the community.
This interactive, long table public talk will provide a platform for dialogue and learning about the history and contemporary lives of Portuguese working people in Canada, and how such histories intersect with contemporary art practices.
Guests include: Teresa Ascencao (Artist, Daily Bread), Gilberto Fernandes (Public Historian, Portuguese Canadian History Project), Anna Camara (Independent Writer, Cultural Critic and Communicator) and Carlos Lourenco (Welder, Owner of CL Custom Fabrication and Services).
This discussion will be moderated by Abedar Kamgari, Curator, Daily Bread.
This program is free to the public. Refreshments will be served courtesy of Ola Bakery and Pastries. All are welcome!
