THE MAN WHO makes their Hamilton debut on Tuesday July 17th, alongside local groups Sun Kings, Moement & The Silvertone Hills. Doors open at 8pm.
The duo goes by The Man Who, and they have just released their newest single titled “This High.” The single provides an atmospheric tone with an infectious introduction.
Made up of two cousins who began writing together in their basement, the two claim that they are driven by a desire to challenge the boundaries between rock and pop. The two are looking to have their music reflect an experimental approach in sound, all while telling the stories they’ve collected along the way.
The band also adds that the song “is about a high, and the way in which it can consume us to the point where nothing else matters. Whether it is a drug high, an infatuation high or a plain old natural adrenaline high, we’ve all, at some point, experienced this intense feeling.” Listen to the full track below.
THE MAN WHO
SUN KINGS — https://soundcloud.com/sun-kings
We formed in 2015 in Hamilton, Ontario jamming in basements and writing songs and spent the next year working out our sound playing at bars and clubs in and around town. Come fall 2016, we entered Catherine North Studios to record a self-titled E.P. with producer Mike Monson and released it to the world in August 2017 (available on iTunes and Spotify). We're pushing our rock and roll agenda forward with heavy, visceral, and hard-hitting riff-rock.
SILVERTONE HILLS — https://silvertonehills.bandcamp.com/
Silvertone Hills are an emerging indie-rock group out of Hamilton, Ontario. The band’s line-up was settled in October 2016, upon recruiting the gritty vocals of Liam O’Sullivan. Their signature sound is the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Andrew Billone, determined to fuse memorable melodies with jangling guitars and psychedelic soundscapes. Tasteful backbeats are courtesy of drummer/vocalist Alex Bishop and bassist Mike Park.
